Indigo Rabbit follows a Food Allergen Control Plan that meets and exceeds the requirements of local, state and federal agencies.  Our production facility employs full-time Sanitation/Maintenance personnel.  Any equipment (scales, thermometers, product-making machines) that is shared for different products is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before starting the next product.  All utensils, regardless of contact with allergens, are cleaned and sanitized after each use. We use a color-coded system for all utensils coming into contact with the following allergens: wheat, liquid milk and milk solids, peanuts and tree nuts, soy and egg.

Additionally, we regularly verify that our suppliers have Allergen Control Plans in place.  Any items coming in on pallets that contain the aforementioned allergens are identified and shrink-wrapped.

New FDA Gluten-Free Guidelines
The FDA is planning to mandate new guidelines for gluten-free labeling of food items so that individuals with Celiac Disease can enjoy greater confidence in making food buying choices.  Even though such guidelines are not yet policy, at Indigo Rabbit we already voluntarily test our gluten-free cookie varieties, Seriously Cinnamon Almond and Perfectly Peanut Butter, to ensure that they meet and exceed the proposed standards.  Indigo Rabbit products that display the gluten-free label have been baked without ingredients from any species of the grains wheat, rye, barley, or a crossbred hybrid of these grains and meet the standard of less than 20 parts per million gluten.
